The short version: the numbers you type into a calculator never leave your browser.
Who this policy covers
This policy explains how The Business Calc ("the site", "we") handles information when you visit it. The site is operated by the operator of The Business Calc.
Calculator inputs
Every calculator runs entirely in your browser. The costs, prices, rates, and other figures you enter are never transmitted to us, never stored on a server, and never included in analytics.
If you use "Copy link to this result", the link contains the figures you entered so that it reopens with them filled in. That link only goes wherever you choose to paste it.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used — for example, which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are located (derived from IP address, which is not stored in full), what device and browser they use, and how they arrived. We also record anonymous events noting that a calculation completed or failed, or that a preset or link was used — never the values you entered.
Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) to
distinguish visits. If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, these
cookies are not set unless you consent; without consent, Google receives only cookieless,
aggregate measurement signals. Google processes this data as described in
Google's privacy policy.
You can opt out with the
Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on
or by blocking cookies in your browser; the calculators work the same either way.
Advertising
The site does not currently show ads, and no advertising scripts or cookies are loaded. If that changes, this section will be updated before ads appear, to name the ad network and explain your choices.
Hosting and security
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes connection data such as your IP address and browser details in order to deliver pages and protect the site against abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
What we don't do
- We don't ask you to create an account or give us your name or email to use any tool.
- We don't sell or share personal information for money.
- We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live — for example in the EU, UK, or California — you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to its use. Because the site itself stores no personal data, most requests concern the third-party services above, which you can also contact directly through the links provided. Changes to this policy
If the site's data practices change — for example, when analytics or advertising is switched on — this page will be updated first, and the date at the top will change.
